Both gay and straight readers spent hours “aww”-ing and laughing and sharing the link to this blog today, after NPR did a feature article on it. The blog’s posts consist of an old childhood photo and a short essay by the homosexual grown-up the child in the picture eventually became. Most of the accompanying essays say something along the lines of, “I should have known I was gay,” or, “I was always a bit different.”
The statement the blog makes is bigger than just an argument of nature vs. nuture though; the blog shows us that pictures can predict the future, can reveal an individual’s personality or life or preferences years before the individual reveals them.
Photographs provide so much more information than just the print or the pixels we see.
If this photo doesn’t sum up adult me, I’m not sure what does.
